It has been protected from the elements by the front loading case, which usually puts those without the tools and experience from poking around where they don’t belong! The movement has just been completely serviced. The movement is the 24 jewel Calibre 552, a very good movement with swan neck fine adjustment. Answers on a postcard! All of that is just marketing, but being a 1960’s Omega of course the engineering is superb. On the 1961 gold capped watch we have currently they just used Seamaster but refer to it on their own website as a Seamaster De Ville. We are not sure why Omega couldn’t decide if this was a Seamaster or a de Ville model, hence they used both names on the dial. Model reference 14905.įrom the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1962. This automatic Omega Seamaster De Ville has the all stainless steel case. ![]()
